The Oklahoma City Thunder acquired Alex Caruso on Thursday afternoon when it was announced they were sending away Josh Giddey in a surprise trade.
What does this trade do for the Thunder and how does it make them better?
According to Udonis Haslem, Caruso will bring a lot to OKC.
On Friday’s “Get Up,” he said Caruso will help the team offensively because of his strong three-point shooting but he will also provide a ton of great defense.
Haslem compared this trade to the one that landed Jrue Holiday with the Boston Celtics and said it makes the Thunder the best team in the Western Conference.

Technically, the Thunder were already the best team in the West, as they ended last season with the top spot in their conference.
They had a 57-25 record and were easily one of the most exciting teams in the entire league.
Now that they have exchanged Giddey for Caruso, the Thunder have another strong threat from the perimeter and also someone who can play expert defense.
They have improved both parts of their game with just one move, plus they didn’t have to give up any draft picks to make it happen.
Things really are looking bright for the Thunder, who have been on the rise for the last few seasons and are giving fans even more reasons to be excited about the years ahead.
Caruso was one of the most important players in Chicago but that team has remained stuck in mediocrity for years.
Now that he is moving to the Thunder, he has a chance to shine even brighter and possibly earn his second championship.
