The Dallas Mavericks made it all the way to the NBA Finals but they are still interested in getting better before the next season begins.
That means they might ship away a few players in order to get a stronger roster.
According to Evan Sidery, the Mavericks are “shopping” Tim Hardaway Jr. in hopes of finding a “rotational upgrade.”
Sidery noted that Hardaway saw decreased time on the court during the playoffs so the news of him possibly leaving isn’t very surprising to Dallas fans.

Hardaway produced 14.4 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game in 2023–24.
But his output in the postseason dropped off in a big way, averaging just 4.4 points, 1.8 rebounds, and 0.4 assists per game.
His amount of time on the floor was cut in half during the playoffs, a sure sign that the coaching staff was moving beyond Hardaway.
The Mavericks already underwent a few important changes last season at the trade deadline that ended up helping them a lot in the second half of the season.
It’s clear that the Mavericks are headed in a certain direction and Hardaway might not fit in with their plans.
Now that the Mavericks have gone all the way to the Finals, they are adamant about remaining strong next season.
Expectations will be higher than ever before and they will need to do whatever it takes to meet them.
Hardaway has spent the last six seasons with the Mavericks and is 32 years old, which means that a number of other teams in the league might be willing to sign him, although his contract could be impacted because of his playoff performance.
