Things reportedly aren’t working out very well between the Golden State Warriors and Klay Thompson.
According to Anthony Slater, talks between these two are now “essentially frozen” and no offer has been made to retain the four-time champion.
“It’s more probable than ever he may leave the only franchise he’s known, regardless of his market,” Slater wrote for The Athletic, confirming that Thompson could be on the move very soon.

NBA fans have been expecting this moment for months now.
Even before last season started, there was a big question mark hanging over Thompson’s head.
He wasn’t able to agree to a deal with the Warriors last summer and entered the season with a ticking clock ahead of free agency.
Matters became even more complicated when Thompson had his worst season ever.
Then he stoked the fire more by unfollowing the Warriors on social media, which caused a great deal of speculation about what’s next.
Slater states that a deal hasn’t been made and time is clearly running out.
There is a growing consensus that Thompson is going to see what other teams can offer him and leave the Warriors this summer.
The Orlando Magic have been repeatedly mentioned as a team that would welcome Thompson, but there would probably be other franchises interested in him, despite his recent struggles.
No matter how troubled 2023–24 was, Thompson is still one of the best shooters of all time and could bring a lot to a team, especially a younger one that needs his experience and expertise.
Will the Warriors and Thompson sit down and hash out a deal or is this situation only going to get worse in the weeks ahead?
