Even though special teams are one of the key elements to playing winning football consistently, NFL fans and analysts have rarely talked about special teamers.
For the most part, we only talk about kickers when they’re doing a bad job.
That’s why Will Reichard must be doing some impressive things to have people talking about him right now.
According to a report by Kevin Seifert of ESPN, the sixth-round pick out of Alabama has been more than remarkable thus far (Via The Purple Persuasion).
Per @SeifertESPN, rookie #Vikings K Will Reichard CAN KICK and has the leg to kick in the #NFL for a long time

Seifert raved about Reichard’s performance during positional drills, stating that he had the leg to kick in the league for a long time.
He reported that during the team’s final OTA — which took place indoors due to the weather — Reichard nearly hit a balcony that is perched on the wall behind and above the goalposts.
He did so during a progression of attempts from 40+ yards.
Then, with the defense putting pressure on him, he was right on the money from 60 yards, with the football landing in a net that sits 10 feet behind the goalpost and 10 feet off the ground.
Reichard had a remarkable college campaign with the Crimson Tide, helping them win a championship in 2020, and being named the SEC Special Teams Player of the Year.
He also made it to a first-team All-SEC, a second-team All-SEC, and was a 2x second-team All-American, all while also setting the FBS record for the most career points scored (547).
