The Milwaukee Bucks made one of the biggest moves of the offseason last year.
Trading for Damian Lillard was expected to get them to a whole new level, and, for several reasons, that wasn’t the case.
Now, they’re looking to add more depth to their roster, and that means one of their core guys will have to go.
According to a report by Evan Sidery of Forbes Sports, the Bucks have been shopping Pat Connaughton around.
Connaughton is about to make $9.4 million next season, and he also has a player option for the following campaign left in his contract.
The Bucks are currently in the second apron of the luxury tax, which means they cannot take on more salary than they give away in any potential trade.

Per Sidery, the Bucks are looking to get a more versatile player than Connaughton, who’s pretty much a catch-and-shoot specialist at this point in his career.
The Bucks missed Jrue Holiday and his elite defense last season, and adding Patrick Beverley did little to help with that.
They also missed the Khris Middleton of old, and some are starting to question if he’s ever going to get back to his former level after the injuries, given his age.
There’s still a chance that the Damian Lillard-Giannis Antetokounmpo duo will wind up being one of the best in the Eastern Conference.
Still, all championship teams need depth around their stars to succeed, and the Bucks won’t be the exception.
