Analyst Rips Lakers For Hiring JJ Redick

The Los Angeles Lakers have finally hired their new coach.

Former NBA player JJ Redick will have his very first coaching experience at the pro level by taking the reins of one of the most popular franchises in sports, and that could either work out perfectly or be a bit of a disaster, at least for him.

The Lakers have had the hottest coaching seat in the league for over a decade now, with no coach being there for 3+ seasons since Phil Jackson left.

More than that, the fact that they have a rookie coach raised some eyebrows.

With that in mind, sports analyst Lance Medow claimed that it was ‘a smack in the face’ to Darvin Ham.

Talking on Mad Dog Sports Radio, Medow claimed that by going after Redick or Dan Hurley, the Lakers were pretty much telling Ham that he did such a horrendous job that they would’ve rather had someone with no experience at the NBA level than keep him around.

“The coaching decision-making in the NBA is becoming as asinine as the National Football League.”@LanceMedow doesn’t think it’s wise of the Lakers to exchange Darvin Ham for JJ Redick. #LakeShow

Truth be told, that’s only half true.

Darvin Ham didn’t do a good job with the Lakers at all, and he clearly had lost his locker room, meaning he had to go.

The latter has been a recurring issue with teams involving LeBron James, and that’s not Ham’s fault.

On the other hand, the Lakers weren’t talented enough to be a championship team, so it’s not like it was all on him.

Lance Medow believes the coaching decision-making in the NBA is becoming as asinine as the NFL, and he might be right to some degree.

But for now, we’ll just have to wait and see how Redick fares in L.A.
