The New York Knicks were so close to the Eastern Conference Finals that they could smell it.

Then, a string of injuries derailed their promising campaign, and it was just too much to overcome.

Even so, Tom Thibodeau’s team proved to be much better than some gave them credit for, and they could be a very appealing free-agent destination sooner rather than later.

On top of that, they have plenty of draft assets and pieces to pull off a big trade, and they’re expected to be very aggressive on the trade market in the summer.

With that in mind, Craig Carton revealed that Anthony Davis was at the top of their wishlist.

Talking on The Carton Show, he admitted that he didn’t think they could pull it off and that some within the organization didn’t think it was a realistic scenario.

Nonetheless, if he were to become available, he’d be the player they covet the most, says Carton.

Truth be told, it’s hard to envision Davis playing for a guy like Thibodeau.

He’d be able to take his defense to a whole new level, which is a lot to say, but with his history of injuries, they might be better off without each other.

The Knicks are also expected to be in the running to land Paul George, and they have the assets to outbid almost every team out there.

As for Davis, it seems highly unlikely that he will go anywhere unless the Lakers get a historical value in return for his services.
