For years, the Golden State Warriors tried to stay competitive while also building for the future.
That approach didn’t always work out, which is why they ended up trading James Wiseman.
Still, they held on to some of their young players, and they added plenty of talent via the NBA Draft last season as well.
That’s why, with their championship core up in age and entering the backend of their careers, they don’t want to jeopardize their future.
According to a report by Monte Poole of NBC Sports, the Warriors have no desire to move on from the likes of Jonathan Kuminga, who has the highest upside among their young players (via NBA Central).
The Warriors have exhibited no desire to part with Jonathan Kuminga, Moses Moody, Brandin Podziemski and Trayce Jackson-Davis, per @MontePooleNBCS

More than that, they also don’t want to part ways with Brandin Podziemski, Moses Moody, or Trayce Jackson-Davis.
That makes sense, but it would make more sense if they got more minutes next season.
Moody is an energy guy, but he was in and out of the rotation for most of the season.
Jackson-Davis has the upside and potential to be one of the most dominant rebounders and rim protectors in the game, and his athleticism gives the Warriors an entirely different look, but he was also left out of the rotation very often.
Podziemski proved to be a valuable piece right away, and Kuminga has All-Star potential and finally showed glimpses of greatness last season.
The Warriors could and should explore all their options to get a star, but if the right move isn’t there, they must commit to their future.
