The Los Angeles Lakers introduced JJ Redick as their new head coach on Monday afternoon and he spoke with the press, laying out his plans for the future and speaking about the coaching search that brought him this new job.

Some people said that Redick was a little testy about the criticisms of him and responded to the concerns about him being a first-time head coach.

Speaking on “The Carton Show,” Tim Hardaway Sr. said that Redick needs to strap in for much harsher criticism in the months ahead.

“The criticism hasn’t even started yet. That was light,” Hardaway said.

Redick pushed back on the questions about him being a head coach for the first time, saying he wasn’t focused on any of that and was solely putting his attention into leading the team and winning as much as possible.

According to Hardaway and others, Redick hasn’t heard anything yet.

In the months ahead, he is going to face the full force of the media and antsy Lakers fans.

They are going to question his choices, critique every single loss, and definitely wonder if he’s the right man for the job at times.

However, the Lakers believe that Redick is worthy of the job and are excited to see what he can do for the team.

He has never coached an NBA team before or even served as an assistant coach but he definitely has a high basketball IQ and good energy that should work well with the roster.

Will that be enough to lead the Lakers to big wins or will the criticisms about Redick only grow?
