For the San Francisco 49ers fans out there who are hoping that the team doesn’t part ways with All-Pro wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk, they might be in luck.
So far this offseason, despite the bumpy ride that fans have been on during the contract standoff between Aiyuk and the organization, the franchise has given no truth to the rumor that they are interested in trading him.
According to insider Ari Meirov, the 49ers are still hoping to get an extension done with Aiyuk.
“The 49ers’ intent remains to get an extension done. They just haven’t seen eye-to-eye up until now,” Meirov recently tweeted.
For what it’s worth: Up to this point, and ever since the draft ended, the #49ers have given zero indications that they are interested in trading Brandon Aiyuk.
They have him under contract for the upcoming season, and acquiring draft capital for 2025 or beyond does not help… https://t.co/m1NuE2KPsJ pic.twitter.com/9gGZCb4ClU

Meirov also went on to cite the Deebo Samuel contract negotiations that took place a few years ago.
Samuel had requested a trade but ended up agreeing to terms on a major extension with the team.
49ers fans are hoping that history can repeat itself here.
For this team to win a Super Bowl, they are going to need their best pieces available.
The skill-position cast of All-Pro running back Christian McCaffrey, All-Pro tight end George Kittle, All-Pro wide receiver Deebo Samuel and the All-Pro in Aiyuk might make up the best supporting group in the league around Pro Bowl quarterback Brock Purdy.
GM John Lynch also added another first-round wide receiver in rookie Ricky Pearsall out of Florida in the latest NFL Draft.
Aiyuk is coming off his best season as a pro in 2023 (career-high 1,342 yards).
He could very well be the team’s best true wide receiver in the building.
Inking him to a long-term extension would be a huge move if it happened for the historic franchise.
