For years, the Miami Heat have developed a reputation for being the toughest environment and franchise in the entire Association.
Pat Riley and Erik Spoelstra keep everybody on a short leash and on a military-like system, and it has clearly paid off.
All that talk about Heat Culture isn’t just talk; they actually put in the work.
In the latest edition of The OGs with Udonis Haslem and Mike Miller, Heat star Bam Adebayo shared his thoughts on their culture (via ClutchPoints).
“I’ve seen a lot of dudes crumble in there man, they walk in there thinking they sweet… We working.”

He claimed that he’s seen multiple players crumble and not be able to withstand the physical demands of being there.
Adebayo stated that some players think they’re ‘sweet’ and then get shocked when they see the way they work hard and go to battle every single day in practice.
Of course, that has built a strong culture within the organization, as the team has often rewarded those who work the hardest and not necessarily the most talented.
We’ve seen them turn undrafted and fringe rotation players into legitimate NBA players over and over, and we’ve also seen those guys fall from grace as soon as they leave South Beach.
Then again, perhaps wearing the players out in practice every day isn’t the way to go when you approach an 82-game season, plus playoffs, and it may also have something to do with their late-season injuries.
Still, that’s just how they roll in Miami, and they take pride in that kind of competitive, gritty, and physical approach to the game.
