Kevin Durant’s time with the Phoenix Suns hasn’t been nearly as productive and successful as fans had hoped.

He has shown that he’s still an excellent player and a future Hall of Famer, but the Suns have struggled and haven’t come close to winning a Finals.

As always, there are rumors about Durant’s future and Stephen A. Smith appeared on ESPN Wednesday morning, per NBACentral, to state that the Suns want to trade Durant right now.

If Smith is correct, this summer could be positively massive for the Suns and the rest of the NBA.

The Houston Rockets were very busy on Tuesday night, making deals to acquire multiple future draft picks that were originally owned by the Suns.

Inside reporting said that the Rockets were keen on acquiring Durant, but that could only happen in a year.

However, Smith contradicts that and says Phoenix wants to make a deal happen immediately, with the Rockets or maybe another team.

Publicly the team has said it is intensely dedicated to Durant and continuing a future with him.

If they are secretly plotting his departure behind the scenes, it would be a shocking decision that could shake up the entire league.

Durant would instantly become a highly-coveted target for a plethora of teams and the Suns could get a gigantic haul in exchange for him.

He has moved around the league multiple times during his career but he is usually the one demanding a trade, not the other way around.

It’ll be interesting to see if Smith’s statement gains traction over the next few days and weeks.

Will the Suns comment on this or will speculation continue to grow?
