The NBA Draft is finally here, and while this draft class is being labeled one of the worst ever, there will undoubtedly be teams who find a diamond in the rough.
Paul Pierce named who he believes is the best draft pick in NBA history this morning, and this pick should give teams hope that no matter how bad a draft class appears to be, you always have a chance of finding a legend.
Pierce appeared on Undisputed today and said that Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokic is the best draft pick ever, noting “He was picked 41st. This guy has been dominant and he’s won three MVPs in four years.”

It’s hard to disagree, as probably 90 percent of second-round picks amount to very little, and Jokic was infamously drafted during a Taco Bell commercial and is by far the most successful second-round pick in league history.
Of all other players in NBA history to win three MVP awards, the lowest-drafted player aside from Jokic is Larry Bird at No. 6.
Jokic is the only player drafted lower than No. 15 to win MVP even once, as Giannis Antetokounmpo and Steve Nash were both 15th overall picks.
Anyone can nail a top-3 pick, but it takes incredible scouting and development to pull a Jokic out of the second round.
There might never be another pick like him, but in a draft like this, there will certainly be a few players outside of the lottery who turn some heads quickly.
Plenty of overseas talents will be in this pool, and keep an eye out for whoever gets selected during the next Taco Bell commercial.
