With the NBA offseason well underway now that the Boston Celtics have dispatched the Dallas Mavericks in the NBA Finals, speculation and rumors have been running rampant about potential moves that could be made this summer.
On Monday night, the New York Knicks officially got the offseason movement started as they acquired Mikal Bridges in a blockbuster trade with the Brooklyn Nets, which may have thrust them into the title-contending conversation ahead of the 2024-25 NBA season.
That blockbuster trade by the Knicks may be the beginning of some massive shifts around the league, as the Golden State Warriors could be next, with a lot of speculation about the team’s plans moving forward.
Along with the Warriors seemingly being on the verge of losing Klay Thompson in NBA free agency, Golden State wants to move on from veterans Chris Paul and Andrew Wiggins, with the team’s sights potentially set on Paul George of the Los Angeles Clippers.
However, if that George deal doesn’t come to fruition, and it might not be easy to make that happen, Patrick Beverley has a theory about what could happen, which involves current Los Angeles Lakers guard D’Angelo Russell.
If Dlo opt in it, a possibility u can see Steph, PG, Draymond, DLo…. @PatBevPod

Russell has to decide if he’ll opt into his player option with the Lakers, which is worth $18.6 million and might be a contract that Los Angeles wants to move this summer.
As Beverley suggests, Russell could return to the Warriors as the team tries to replace Thompson and bring in another ball-handling guard to shoulder the load in the backcourt, along with superstar Stephen Curry.
