The Minnesota Timberwolves needed another bucket-getter in the playoffs, so they went out and got one of the best in this class in the NBA Draft.
Rob Dillingham is an exciting player to watch, and while he doesn’t come devoid of risk, his upside is quite exciting.
Also, the Kentucky product doesn’t lack confidence.
When asked what he would bring to the team, he claimed that he might be the missing piece that they need, adding that they were a very good team that had a legitimate chance to win the whole thing last season (via NBA TV).
“They just need one more piece. I feel like they were honestly good this year and they could’ve won it this year. Adding me is just a plus to the team.” @TaylorRooks with Rob Dillingham and how he fits right in with the Timberwolves pic.twitter.com/wOze6aLtO6

Dillingham is an offensive force who can put defenders on skates.
If he hits, the Timberwolves could have one of the most explosive and unstoppable backcourts in the game, pairing him with Anthony Edwards.
He also gives them some fresh legs behind a veteran like Mike Conley, who’s clearly on the backend of his career.
On the downside, he’s not much of a defender and doesn’t have an impressive wingspan, and he needs to bulk up to be able to withstand the physicality of the game.
He’s not an athletic freak like Ja Morant, an elite playmaker like Trae Young, or a physical bully like Tyrese Maxey.
But even if he struggles because of his small frame, he still has the upside to be, at the very least, a perennial Sixth Man of the Year candidate off of his shot-making skills alone.
