The New York Knicks have recently made a couple of moves this offseason to allow them to possibly contend with the champion Boston Celtics next season.
Prior to the NBA Draft last night, New York made the decision to ink former champion and All-NBA defender OG Annoy to a five-year deal worth $212.5 million.
Also, New York traded for talented shooter and All-NBA defender Mikal Bridges earlier in the week.
These moves were made in an effort to match up with the likes of Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum out in Boston.
With these moves and considering what they did last season, the Knicks are in a great position to challenge the Celtics.
Former NBA player and current ESPN analyst Tim Legler believes the same thing.
“The New York Knicks have solidified themselves now as a legitimate challenger to the Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference,” Legler said.

With the All-Star tandem of Jaylen Brunson and a healthy Julius Randle, along with the additions that this team has made, the Knicks have a really sound roster as things currently stand.
Also, New York has reunited the ‘Nova boys.’
Brunson, Bridges, Donte DiVincenzo, and Josh Hart all became national champions at Villanova together during their college days.
Now, they are teaming up again in the Big Apple.
This overall core has the chance to be great, especially under the leadership of head coach Tom Thibodeau, who is still searching for his first championship as a head coach.
The franchise hasn’t won a title since 1972-73.
It has been a long, long time for this tortured fan base too.
With these latest moves, perhaps they won’t need to wait much longer.
