Many Los Angeles Lakers fans were surprised and excited by how their team performed during night one of the NBA draft on Wednesday night.
That is because the Lakers acquired Dalton Knecht with their No. 17 pick, a player many envisioned as a top ten selection.
On Thursday’s “Undisputed,” Keyshawn Johnson was elated by the choice, stating his excitement was at a “10” and saying that Knecht may do great things for the Lakers.

Knecht might not be a starter right away but there is a good chance he could start contributing to the Lakers immediately.
Many reports said the Lakers were looking at Purdue big man Zach Edey but he was grabbed earlier in the draft, leading fans to speculate about what was next for the purple and gold.
Instead of going with another center, the Lakers chose to get Knecht, who is known more for his offensive powers than his defensive ones.
It’s those offensive skills that the Lakers want and they are hoping he can shoot well in the NBA, just like he did in college.
This year’s draft wasn’t supposed to be a big one for the Lakers.
While most people expected them to acquire Bronny James on night two, they weren’t seen as a team that was going to make a lot of noise.
But many fans consider their signing of Knecht as a steal and a great surprise that could give a huge boost to the team and its new head coach, JJ Redick.
He did wonderful things in college and now it’s time to see what Knecht can do in the NBA.
