Dalton Knecht is now officially a member of the Los Angeles Lakers.

Knecht was selected as the No. 17 pick during night one of the NBA draft and is now preparing for his move to Los Angeles and his work alongside LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and others.

Just hours before learning his fate, Knecht spoke with The Player’s Tribune about the first NBA jersey he owned.

It just so happened to be the white Christmas-themed Kobe Bryant jersey, which is now quite appropriate.

Any Bryant jersey is popular among NBA players but the Christmas Lakers jersey is even more special.

It’s all white with purple highlights and is of course only worn one day a year.

The fact that it’s so rare and the fact that it was Bryant’s jersey makes it such a big piece of Lakers memorabilia.

There is now a very good chance that Knecht will be wearing his own Christmas-themed jersey in the months ahead.

Many rookies don’t get a lot of time on the court during their first years but there is now a lot of speculation about how much Knecht will get to play.

He did very well in college, showed a ton of skills, and seems like he will be a perfect fit for the Lakers.

It’s unlikely that he will be a starter but plenty of analysts believe he could be one of the best rookies of the upcoming season.

They also believe the Lakers got a steal by securing him with their No. 17 pick.

Years ago, Knecht was admiring the Christmas-themed Bryant jersey and now in just a few months, he will be wearing one very similar to it.

That must be an exciting moment for the young NBA rookie.
