Bronny James may be a member of the NBA on Thursday evening.
Night two of the NBA draft is getting a lot of attention because it could be the moment when James is picked by any number of teams.
Conventional wisdom says that his dad’s squad, the Los Angeles Lakers, will pick James but he could be selected by multiple other franchises.
Speaking on Thursday’s “First Take,” Stephen A. Smith said that the Denver Nuggets or Philadelphia 76ers would be a good place for James to develop his skills alongside two of the best big men in the league.
He also feels that being on the Lakers could be both good and bad for James.

Smith made sure to stress that James is a very talented young man who could do great things in the years ahead.
But he also feels that joining the Lakers would come with a lot of baggage that could detract from his game.
Any player coming to the Lakers gets a lot of attention because of the historic legacy of the team and the place it has in the NBA.
But James would have even more attention because of his dad and the expectations placed upon his shoulders.
There would be a media circus surrounding him at all times and people would be wanting great things from him as soon as possible.
And while James has shown that he has a lot of promise, he might not be able to deliver what analysts and fans want.
It would be great to see James play with his dad but if he truly wants to have the best career possible, he might be better off performing with the Nuggets, 76ers, or another team.
