The Los Angeles Clippers and Paul George have reportedly reached a stalemate.

They weren’t able to strike a deal for a contract extension last season, and it doesn’t seem like that’s going to happen any time soon.

George is reportedly looking to get the same kind of deal Kawhi Leonard got, and the Clippers don’t seem to be so sure about that.

With that in mind, several teams are heavily expected to make a run at him if he doesn’t pick up his player option for next season.

And even if that happens, there could still be teams looking to trade for him.

However, with the latest rumors about the Golden State Warriors’ interest in his services, Stephen A. Smith just doesn’t think it will be a good idea for him.

Talking on First Take, he claimed that George is definitely worth top dollar as the two-way star he is, but he doesn’t think Steve Kerr’s system will be good for him.

George is a great offensive player and an outstanding defender, but Smith doesn’t see him as the spot-up shooter who could thrive in the Bay area.

Instead, he thinks he would be better suited either staying with the Clippers or going to the Philadelphia 76ers, who are also expected to make a run at him.

The Warriors will reportedly look to add another star, and it’ll be interesting to see if they find a way to get George by Stephen Curry’s side without giving up too much in return.
