With the Los Angeles Lakers hiring JJ Redick, there are all sorts of questions about his rotations, schemes, and whether other players will get more opportunities.
Most people expect Austin Reaves to take a huge leap forward, as Redick is reportedly very high on him.
However, if you were to ask Reaves himself, he thinks Max Christie might benefit the most from Redick’s arrival.
Talking to Trevor Lane, Reaves talked about how he thinks Christie’s ability to cut and his athleticism are traits to exploit, and he thinks that expanded opportunities would show that.

He thinks that, while his numbers might not be eye-popping, the advanced stats will most likely show his impact on winning.
That makes sense, as Christie was a breakout candidate last season, yet he was in and out of Darvin Ham’s rotation.
Christie’s scoring skills were on display during the Summer League, and the Lakers and it’s players reportedly had high expectations for him.
The Lakers don’t have that much cap space to wiggle around and find other players, and if they don’t make a big move to land another star, they might have to find their reinforcements in-house.
Christie has shown glimpses of great play, and with all the defensive attention that LeBron James and Anthony Davis get, he could get plenty of wide-open looks with his ability to play off the ball.
Now, whether the Lakers are going to be a championship-caliber team in JJ Redick’s first season in charge remains to be seen.
