One of the most aggressive teams in the NBA over the past couple of years has been, without a doubt, the Phoenix Suns, with new team owner Matt Ishbia wanting to get this franchise back to title contention as soon as possible by building a star-studded roster.
The Suns made a significant splash by bringing in superstar Kevin Durant to pair with Devin Booker and then followed that up by acquiring star guard Bradley Beal ahead of last season, which many believed would thrust them into the title-contending conversation.
Unfortunately for Phoenix, things haven’t gone as planned, as the three-superstar experiment has been more of a disaster than a game-changer.
As if getting swept by the upstart Minnesota Timberwolves in the first round of the NBA playoffs wasn’t bad enough, the Suns were once again involved in trade rumors ahead of the NBA Draft, with speculation brewing about the team wanting to move Durant.
To end the speculation, Ishbia made a public statement saying the team has no interest in trading Durant, which has led many, including Nick Wright of FOX Sports, to wonder what is going on in Phoenix.
“Phoenix is incredibly high on the NBA’s ‘no clue what they’re doing’ list. … It’d be smart if the Suns traded Kevin Durant & accepted their reality of ‘we’re not contending during the tail end of KD’s prime.’ But they don’t want to accept that reality,” Wright said.

It seems as though no one knows what is going on with the Suns at this point, as the team could be working on making another major move but didn’t want anyone to know about it.
Needless to say, the Suns are in trouble as they build this supposed title contender to compete for the next three to five years, and things aren’t going well, which could ultimately end in disaster.
