For many years, the Golden State Warriors were nearly a lock to make it to the playoffs and to go on a deep postseason run.
The prime of the Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green was truly a sight to behold.
In many ways, the Warriors reminded sports fans of the New England Patriots, as they were practically penciled in to make it to the conference finals every season with that roster construction.
Other players joined them along the way, but those three players have been their core.
While their formula might have worked in the past, it appears that the Warriors will need to shake things up to improve their chances of success next season.
There have been a few names thrown out there to join this team, which Ramona Shelburne highlighted on the Willard And Dibs podcast.
“Name a high-profile trade target or free agent [the Warriors] have called. Kevin Durant? They’ve called. Paul George? They’ve called. Lauri Markkanen? They’ve called. What can they actually pull off? We’ll see,” said Shelburne.

Shelburne listed three individual players who might be able to come in and make an immediate difference for this roster.
Durant has already played for this team, and George and Markkanen could be legitimate options for them, should they choose to pounce on the right player.
The Warriors could rest on their laurels and let sleeping dogs lie, but Shelburne giving specific details like this could indicate that the Warriors are seriously adding one of these elites.
