After epically flaming out with the Los Angeles Lakers, future Hall of Famer Russell Westbrook was traded to the Utah Jazz and eventually bought, making him a free agent.
Ironically enough, Westbrook never left his hometown, but he was able to secure a deal with the Los Angeles Clippers, where he could move his locker down the hall at Crypto.com Arena.
Although it appeared that Westbrook had found a home with the Clippers, as he seemed to fit in and accepted his role off the bench, it seems as though he’ll be on the move once again this summer.
According to Tomer Azarly of ClutchPoints, Westbrook is actively looking for another opportunity in the NBA to get more playing time while the Clippers might move on to other veteran guards via NBA Central.
“League sources have told ClutchPoints that Westbrook is not expected to be in a Clippers uniform next season, with Russell reportedly looking at other options that would include opportunity and playing time. There have also been reports of the Clippers’ interest in point guards Chris Paul and Kyle Lowry, which would reinforce the idea that they’re going to replace him,” Azarly wrote.

With the Clippers moving into the Intuit Dome and finally getting out of the shadow of the Lakers franchise at Crypto.com Arena, the consensus has been that team owner Steve Ballmer will want as much star power as he can get for next season, which makes this move an interesting one.
However, the Clippers fans might embrace a reunion with Chris Paul, who will either be traded or bought out by the Golden State Warriors soon.
