Nearly all Warrior fans would quickly say they do not want to see Klay Thompson ride off into the sunset wearing another team’s uniform.
However, that is the current reality staring the proud franchise in the face as the team and one of its longtime stars are apparently at an impasse.
It is widely believed that free agency will see Thompson leave town after spending his first 13 NBA seasons with the Warriors and helping hoist four championship banners.
According to 95.7 The Game, Mark T. Willard emphatically stated, “I firmly believe that Klay Thompson’s time as a Warrior is over.”

Are you okay with Klay ending his career elsewhere?

Willard simply declared what many around the league think is inevitable: Thompson’s tenure with Golden State is history.
Legions of fans well remember how Thompson battled through knee and Achilles injuries and returned after missing two full seasons to push the franchise to a fourth title in the run.
Most believe he still has much to offer an NBA team, and rumors are currently swirling that he is being courted by the league runner-up Dallas Mavericks.
While it will certainly be strange to see the veteran in another uniform, he is determined that his playing days are far from over.
And Dallas would be a most interesting destination.
The team completed a trade with Detroit that sent Tim Hardaway Jr. northbound and freed up $12 million in cap space.
If Golden State is agreeable, this opens the possibility for a sign-and-trade to move Thompson to the Mavericks and give his sterling career a new life.
