According to virtually everyone familiar with the situation, Klay Thompson’s tenure with the Golden State Warriors is at an end.
The 34-year-old feels slighted by team officials for his role in producing four NBA titles, and it may be time to move on to greener pastures.
NBA Central reported, per The Stein Line, that there is a widespread belief within the league that the long-term relationship between Thompson and the Warriors is irreparably damaged.
With free agency looming, speculation about where Thompson could land is rampant.
Sources are convinced that Thompson and the Dallas Mavericks are interested in each other, and a move could be forthcoming when free agency begins Sunday.

There is much to be impressed by when a player has spent 13 seasons with one club, a strong sign that there has been production and mutual respect along the way.
However, that era with Thompson and Golden State is quickly closing, and Stephen Curry’s backcourt mate will likely be a different player when the new campaign arrives.
Despite likely losing a step as he reaches his mid-30s, Thompson still apparently has plenty left to offer an NBA club.
He averaged 17.9 points per game last season as his shot total dropped from the past, marking his lowest average production since the 2012-13 season.
In a perfect world, players would be drafted by a team and, depending on performance, would play lengthy careers before loyal fans and retire wearing the same uniform they entered the league with.
But that is a fairy tale ending that Thompson apparently will not see.
