Ever since he made it to the league, Klay Thompson has been a key contributor for the Golden State Warriors.
He was 50% of the Splash Brothers and is considered to be the 1B to Stephen Curry’s 1A on the list of the greatest shooters of all time.
For years, he talked about retiring in the Bay area and leaving the league at the same time as Steph, so they could be inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame together.
That could still be the case, but they might not be able to return as teammates.
According to most reports, Thompson is about to leave the Warriors, becoming a free agent for the first time in his career.
Notably, Shams Charania of The Athletic also reports that the Los Angeles Clippers, Los Angeles Lakers, and Dallas Mavericks will be strong players for his services (via Yahoo Sports).

The Orlando Magic had also been keeping tabs on him, reportedly.
Thompson is no longer an elite backcourt defender, but he’s still one of the best shooters this game has ever seen.
He wasn’t as efficient as usual last season, yet he should still have a big role on any contending team.
Those who are looking for someone with a quick trigger and a knack for knocking down shots from beyond the arc should pick up the phone and give him a call, although it’ll be very odd to see him playing for a different organization after so many years in the Bay.
