The Golden State Warriors and Klay Thompson are about to part ways.
The elite sharpshooter is going to join a new team for the first time in his career, and while it might take some time to get used to that sight, it wouldn’t be the first time something like this happens.
Fortunately for him, there’s still plenty of interest in his services around the league.
According to a report by Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, Thompson is going to have discussions with the Dallas Mavericks, Philadelphia 76ers, Los Angeles Lakers, and Los Angeles Clippers in the first hours of free agency.

Earlier on Monday, the Sixers had already signed Paul George to a max contract and also gave Tyrese Maxey a max contract extension, so they may have priced themselves out of his sweepstakes.
The Lakers make perfect sense, as the offense could use another sharpshooter, not to mention the fact that he actually grew up rooting for them and his father used to play for them.
The Clippers could use another star with Paul George gone, but if they didn’t want to offer him a four-year contract, it’s hard to envision them making Thompson such an offer.
As for the Mavericks, they’ve cleared up some cap space to make a big splash in free agency, and they’re fresh off a trip to the NBA Finals, not to mention the fact that they have two elite backcourt players only makes that possibility all the most appealing for the four-time NBA champion.
