Kendrick Perkins Sounds Off On Clippers

The Los Angeles Clippers aren’t a better team now than they were 24 hours ago.

Letting Paul George go may have been a big mistake, and the same can be said of giving this version of James Harden $35 million a year.

If they failed to get it done with George, Kawhi Leonard, Russell Westbrook, and Harden, chances are they won’t get over the hump without two of those four players as well.

With that in mind, former NBA player Kendrick Perkins was pretty ruthless when talking about Tyronn Lue’s team (via Oh No He Didn’t).

Perk went off on the Clippers:

“The Lakers has had way more success over these last 5 or 6 years than the Clippers have. I just don’t know what they’re doing right now and it’s really a damn shame”pic.twitter.com/LW7peP8dUj

Talking on ESPN, Perkins claimed that Steve Ballmer has done nothing but pay salaries, doctor bills, and construction workers since he took the reins of the team, and they haven’t found any sort of success.

He stated that as much as they rightfully criticize the Los Angeles Lakers, the Lakers have actually achieved more during that period of time, and he claimed the Clippers don’t seem to have a clear direction at the moment.

He also claimed that you couldn’t depend on Kahwi Leonard because of his never-ending injuries, and that James Harden is unreliable in big moments.

Truth be told, it’s hard to argue with any of Perkins’ words.

The Clippers have nothing to show for during the Ballmer era other than their new stadium.

They could’ve still made another strong push for a ring should George have stayed, but it seems like they’re going to have a tough time keeping up with the rest of the contenders now.
