The Philadelphia 76ers are officially all-in on All-Star guard Tyrese Maxey.
On Monday morning, it was announced that Maxey and the 76ers had agreed to a five-year, $204 million maximum contract extension.
Maxey hopped online to celebrate the big news, tweeting, “LEAVE NO DOUBT! 1% EVERYDAY!” after the news was broken by Adrian Wojnarowski.

Maxey just had the best season of his career.
He posted a strong 25.9 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 6.2 assists per game, which were incredibly strong numbers that earned him the 2023-24 Most Improved Player of the Year award.
The 76ers lost James Harden right before last season started and many fans were worried that the team wouldn’t be able to replace his output.
Maxey stepped up in a huge way and proved that the team could get on just fine without Harden.
However, injuries were still a problem for the 76ers and Joel Embiid’s absence hurt them.
But now the team is getting better with the addition of Paul George and this extension of Maxey.
The Sixers want to become the best team in the East and are eager to be true competition for the Boston Celtics.
They know that time is starting to run out because Embiid will only wait so long before demanding a trade to a team that can truly compete for a championship.
Last season, the 76ers ended as the seventh seed in the East but could have done a lot better had Embiid not been injured.
They are hoping to climb higher in the standings in the new season and this move to keep Maxey may help with that.
