For the first time since he entered the NBA 13 years ago, Klay Thompson most likely won’t play for the Golden State Warriors.
Thompson and the Warriors couldn’t reach an agreement.
More than that, he reportedly felt disrespected and disappointed in the way they handled his situation.
However, it didn’t take long before he found plenty of suitors for his services.
And now, with as many as four potential destinations, Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports reports that he’s narrowed down his choice to two potential teams (via The Dan LeBatard Show & NBA Central).

Apparently, Thompson will choose between the Los Angeles Lakers and Dallas Mavericks.
Reports stated that he would also hear from the Los Angeles Clippers and Philadelphia 76ers.
However, with the first losing Paul George and the latter most likely being priced out, it makes sense that they’re out of contention.
The Mavericks will clearly give him a better chance to win another NBA championship.
They have a significantly better team than the Lakers, a proven coach, and a better duo.
Nonetheless, he has a history with the Lakers, as he grew up rooting for them and his father, Mychal, used to play for the Showtime Lakers.
Moreover, he’s a West Coast kid, and he’d get to stay in California by singing with the Purple & Gold.
What seems to be a fact is that he’s not going to be back in the Bay area, and this is officially the end of the most glorious era in Golden State Warriors history.
