Paul George is no longer playing for the Los Angeles Clippers.

On Monday morning, it was announced that George signed a deal with the Philadelphia 76ers and will be packing his bags and heading out east.

Looking back at his time with the Clippers on “First Take,” Stephen A. Smith called George’s time in Los Angeles “a colossal failure.”

He noted how the team was never able to capitalize on all its talent and consistently came up short.

They were never a true threat in the West even though they put together a very strong team full of multiple All-Stars.

Sure enough, the Clippers never became the red-hot team that fans expected years ago when both George and Kawhi Leonard came to LA.

Because of bad injuries and a tough conference, they were always on the verge of being great but never actually made good on their promises to fans.

They didn’t reach the Finals and most people agree they didn’t even come close.

Now George is leaving a team that was supposed to be the one that earned him his first championship ring.

Will he have better luck with the 76ers?

And what will the Clippers do now?

Will they be able to fill the void left by George and keep Leonard healthy next season?

Is there a chance that this could be the sort of change the Clippers needed?

Or will they continue to be a team that is good but just not good enough?

A lot of people thought the Clippers were going to win a championship with George in the lineup.

That never happened and now it’s just another complicated chapter in the team’s history.
