Over the past couple of years, the Phoenix Suns have been one of the most aggressive teams in the NBA in terms of making bold moves to improve their roster and put themselves in the title-contending conversation in the Western Conference.
After adding superstar Kevin Durant into the mix in a trade with the Brooklyn Nets, the Suns weren’t content with the dynamic duo of Devin Booker, so they went out and acquired Washington Wizards star Bradley Beal in exchange for Chris Paul.
Unfortunately for Phoenix, these blockbuster trades sent shockwaves throughout the league and haven’t moved the needle much for the Suns, which has led ownership to think that more moves need to be made to put talent around these three stars.
One player on the Suns’ roster who was thought to be expendable and potential trade bait this summer is veteran big man Jusuf Nurkic, but according to John Gambadoro of Arizona Sports, Phoenix isn’t ready to part ways with him.
“I do not expect the Suns to trade Nurk. He should do well in Bud’s offense. He will be back,” Gambadoro said.
The Phoenix Suns are keeping Jusuf Nurkic, per @Gambo987

As Gambadoro pointed out, Jusuf is expected to be the kind of player who will do well in the system of new head coach Mike Budenholzer, which obviously remains to be seen.
It’ll be interesting to see what the immediate future holds for the Suns with so much tough competition in the Western Conference right now, especially after they were swept by the Minnesota Timberwolves in the NBA playoffs recently.
