After years of refusing to move their star players in trades and start from scratch, it appears the Chicago Bulls brass has had a shift in mindset, with the team recently trading defensive-minded guard Alex Caruso to the Oklahoma City Thunder and being willing to blow up the roster.

Along with letting veteran center Andre Drummond walk in NBA free agency, as he eventually signed with the Philadelphia 76ers, the Bulls don’t appear to be done making moves, with two notable names on the trading block in the Windy City.

Although all the talk in Chicago right now is whether the team will re-sign DeMar DeRozan in free agency, the Bulls’ top priority might be moving off of often-injured guards Zach LaVine and Lonzo Ball.

According to Chris Haynes of Bleacher Report, the Bulls are trying to move off the contracts of LaVine and Ball this summer via NBA Central.

Unfortunately for Ball, the once-promising stint in Chicago has turned out to be a disaster as he hasn’t been able to be on the floor due to persistent issues with his knees, which at one point was bad enough that he’s considered retirement.

As for LaVine, there’s an argument that could be made that he has the worst contract in the league because even though he is talented and an entertaining high flyer when healthy, the veteran guard can’t stay healthy, which makes trading him that much more difficult.

It remains to be seen if the Bulls can move off these contracts and jumpstart a rebuilding process.
