For most of his NFL career, Tom Brady was known for his serious approach to competition.
He was the ultimate perfectionist and competitor, and someone who was going to demand 150% effort from everybody around him because he was willing to do so himself.
That helped him become the winningest quarterback in league history and most likely the best player to ever do it.
Nonetheless, now that he’s years removed from the game, he knows he could’ve done some things differently.
Recently, in an appearance on The Pivot, the legendary quarterback admitted that he regretted taking the game too seriously and not enjoying it more (via MLFootball).
WOW: Tom Brady says he has ONE REGRET PLAYING FOOTBALL, HE TOOK IT TO SERIOUSLY
“I see Patrick out there at QB, running around, laughing, having fun, I’m like, ‘I used to be like that! What the hell happened to me? I just got too serious”

He talked about how he sees younger quarterbacks, such as Patrick Mahomes, just having fun out there.
Then again, judging by his résumé, it seems like his approach was more than effective, so it’s not like he should have many regrets.
At the end of the day, football is a game just like any other, so it makes sense that you want to have fun out there.
However, it was also his livelihood, and he was on a mission to be the best to ever do it, or at least the best player he could possibly be.
Seven Super Bowl rings and countless records later, it’s more than safe to say that he achieved all those goals and even more.
