The Los Angeles Lakers have missed out on several major free agents over the last few days but that doesn’t mean they are done trying.
In fact, a report from Jovan Buha, per NBACentral, says the team is still trying to make some moves.
Buha says the Lakers are discussing trades with the Portland Trail Blazers, Brooklyn Nets, and Utah Jazz.
Buha wrote:
“It’s too early to write the Lakers off, of course. There’s always a chance they pull a rabbit out of a hat with a trade or signing. They have been active in recent days, discussing potential deals with Portland, Brooklyn and Utah, among other teams, according to league and team sources.”

When free agency started, the Lakers were reportedly tied to Klay Thompson, formally of the Golden State Warriors.
They missed out on landing him and Jonas Valanciunas, James Harden, and others.
So far, they haven’t added any top-level talent and have remained completely silent as more and more players head to different teams.
Time and options are running out and it now seems possible that the Lakers won’t do anything in the offseason.
That would be very concerning to fans because they want the team to look a lot better in the new season.
The Lakers have a new head coach but loyal fans wanted to see more on-court talent too.
So far, they haven’t seen that and it’s hard to envision which free agents they could add.
Buha said the Lakers aren’t done yet and they could produce an impressive, surprising trade in the days ahead.
