All eyes were on Klay Thompson as he decided his next move in the NBA and where he would play.
In the end, he elected to go with the Dallas Mavericks, a choice that could earn him his fifth championship in the next few years.
According to Chris Haynes, per Ky on Twitter, Kyrie Irving of the Mavericks played a big part in recruiting Thompson.
It wasn’t revealed what exactly Irving said but he clearly did his part to move Thompson from Golden State to Dallas.

Irving wasn’t the only one trying to get Thompson on his roster.
Other reports state that LeBron James was attempting to persuade Thompson to sign with the Los Angeles Lakers.
That didn’t pan out and Thompson chose to move to Dallas instead.
What did Irving say that was so convincing?
He probably didn’t have to say much and Irving likely just reminded Thompson of how far the team went only months ago.
Behind the power of Irving and Luka Doncic, the Mavericks appeared in the Finals for the first time in more than a decade.
They came up short and were taken down by the Boston Celtics but their run in the playoffs was still very impressive and suggested the future is bright in Dallas.
Will Thompson fit in with the Mavericks lineup and help them reach their next level?
That isn’t clear yet but he is obviously very excited to get to work in Dallas.
