It’s the dawn of a new era for the Golden State Warriors.
For years, people have talked about the potential end of their dynasty.
Well, that time has come.
Even if they end up winning another ring or two with Stephen Curry and Draymond Green, the dynasty was over the very second Klay Thompson walked away.
With that in mind, Draymond Green revealed that he actually knew this was going to happen.
Talking on his podcast, Green stated that Thompson reached out to him last week to let him know he was leaving (via The Volume).

Green claimed that he didn’t try to convince Thompson to stay.
He listened to him as he reminisced about all the special things they were able to accomplish together, adding that he was actually happy for him.
Green admitted that he shed a tear or two and that he knows things will obviously be different on the court, but he also claimed that the relationship they have won’t change and that it will continue to be a life-lasting friendship.
The Warriors aren’t a better team without Klay Thompson.
They have yet to make a big splash this offseason, and chances are they might not be able to do it at all.
They weren’t able to make the playoffs without Thompson since he entered the league in 2011, and it’ll be interesting to see how they overcome his departure.
Then again, if history has taught us anything, it is to never count Stephen Curry out.
