The Los Angeles Lakers and LeBron James have put an end to all speculation.

He’s finally inked his name on paper, and he’ll continue his stay with the organization.

According to a report by Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, James has agreed to sign a two-year, maximum contract extension worth $104 million.

The deal, per the report, includes a player option for the second season and a no-trade clause.

Even though James had some notable comments about the team late last season, he was always expected to be back in the mix in Los Angeles.

There were rumors about him taking a $20 million pay cut to help the team bring another star to Los Angeles, but those rumors were either not true or he simply didn’t have to do it because the team failed to sign any big names in free agency.

Also, most people thought he would take a three-year deal, so the fact that he took two years instead might be something to consider in the future.

Clearly, James is taking things one year at a time, and with retirement getting closer by the day, he might choose to call it quits after this season.

His younger son, Bryce, will be eligible to enter the league shortly after this contract with the Lakers runs out, so perhaps, if he still has the competitive fire and the physical ability to do so, he could choose to extend his career for at least another season.

For now, he’s not going anywhere.
