It’s the dawn of a new era for the Chicago Bulls.

Following years of struggles and not competing at the highest level, the front office has finally come to terms with the decision to go in a different direction and rebuild.

That means they’re not likely to keep DeMar DeRozan and almost every player on their roster should be available.

Likewise, they could also target young players who fit their system and timeline, and they might be involved in several trade rumors throughout the course of the offseason and even the season.

With that in mind, Bulls insider KC Johnson revealed that they’re ‘fans’ of Sacramento Kings veteran Kevin Huerter (via NBA Central).

Huerter has a ‘movable’ contract and is about to enter the second-to-last year of his contract, thus making him a prime trade candidate for the Kings.

Sacramento is reportedly looking to get better and convince De’Aaron Fox to sign a contract extension, and while Huerter has been a solid role player for them, perhaps they could find more value in the Windy City.

The Bulls have been trying to offload Zach LaVine for months now, but to no avail.

And while absorbing his contract would be a tough pill to swallow for any team, having him next to Fox and Domantas Sabonis would most definitely help Mike Brown’s team take a big leap forward.

Whether they’ll be able to pull this off and find common ground to get a deal done remains to be seen.
