The Toronto Raptors will have a new player in 2024-25 and he has officially signed his paperwork and arranged a contract.

Michael Scotto is reporting that the Raptors and rookie Jonathan Mogbo have decided on a three-year, $6.11 million deal.

Mogbo was the 31st selection of the recent draft, the first pick on night two of the two-day event.

Scotto is reporting that the Raptors really like what they see from Mogbo and are eager to see him show off his versatility next season.

Mogbo played for San Francisco, where he averaged 14.2 points, 10.2 rebounds, 3.6 assists, and 1.6 steals per game.

Those are impressive numbers and suggest that Mogbo could get a decent amount of time on the court during his rookie season.

The Raptors were reportedly resistant to parting ways with the 31st pick in the draft because they wanted Mogbo, partly because of his potential and partly because he is a childhood friend of Raptors lead star Scottie Barnes.

Will Mogbo and Barnes be able to make amazing things together in the upcoming season?

The Raptors are definitely in transition, looking to formulate an identity and find more success.

Last season was very forgettable and they ended as the 12th team in the Eastern Conference with a 25-57 record.

The hope is that they will be moving up in 2024-25 and Mogbo could be a part of that.

Signing him to a three-year deal means the Raptors have a lot of faith in the young Mogbo.

In just a few months, he will have to prove that faith is well-earned.
