After playing only 25 games with the University of Southern California and averaging an unimpressive 4.8 points per game, Bronny James, son of NBA superstar LeBron James, was drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers with the No. 55 overall pick in the second round of the 2024 NBA Draft.

With the consensus being that Bronny James might not be an NBA player at this point in his basketball career, the Lakers took a massive risk in bringing the 19-year-old in, especially with all that has gone on during this NBA offseason, which hasn’t been good for the storied NBA franchise.

However, there are some who are optimistic about Bronny James’ immediate future in the NBA with the Lakers, as they believe he has the talent to be an impact player on the professional level, like Skip Bayless of FOX Sports.

Even though Bayless has famously trashed LeBron James repeatedly for his antics on and off the basketball floor, the FOX Sports personality seems confident in the rookie’s skills while also taking a shot at his father for his clutch ability via NBA Central.

This is a surprising take from Bayless, who seems to have an axe to grind about LeBron James.

Regardless of what Bayless thinks, the pressure will be on Bronny James right away to prove that he was worth taking a risk on, as the spotlight will be directly on the Lakers this year, with seemingly everyone waiting for the team to fail.
