Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua burst onto the scene as a rookie last year and surprised everyone by having the best season in NFL history for a rookie wideout, posting 105 catches for 1,486 yards and six touchdowns, which set the NFL record for receptions and receiving yards for a rookie.
For a professional athlete performing at that level, nutrition means everything, and Nacua recently raised some eyebrows when he shared an unusual detail about his diet.
Analyst Warren Sharp shared an excerpt from a recent interview Nacua did where he revealed he doesn’t like any vegetables, listing green onions and asparagus before saying, “I don’t do any of those” and adding that he replaces nutrients from vegetables with watermelon and pineapple in the morning to go along with his bacon and eggs.

We’ll give Puka a pass for this since he is just 23, and maybe his pallet just isn’t mature enough yet to appreciate how good some vegetables can be.
That being said, whatever he is doing is clearly working, so if he has found a way to get the nutrients he needs without eating vegetables, he should keep enjoying his pineapple and watermelon.
You hear athletes say things like this once in a while and it’s always odd how they stick to a diet like this.
There are so many foods with hidden vegetables in them that it feels like it would be a full-time job to dodge vegetables.
Does Puka just never eat tomato sauce, soup, sushi, or salads?
Make it make sense, Puka.
