Heading into the NBA offseason, it was thought that the Atlanta Hawks would be one of the busiest teams in the league. Trade rumors continued to swirl, which seemed to carry over from the trade deadline in February, when Dejounte Murray was on the block.
Although it was expected that both Murray and Trae Young would be on the move this summer, with the Hawks’ brass seemingly ready to start fresh in the backcourt, only one of the two star guards has been moved so far.
Murray recently was traded to the New Orleans Pelicans, who were looking for an upgrade in their backcourt to pair with CJ McCollum.
Once Murray was moved to New Orleans, many believed it might only be a matter of time before Atlanta sent Young elsewhere as well, with some teams, namely the Los Angeles Lakers and San Antonio Spurs, seeking their own upgrade at point guard.
Now it seems as though Young might not be going anywhere. The Lakers may no longer be interested, and the Spurs recently agreed to add veteran guard Chris Paul as a free agent.
As Young awaits his fate, he seems not to be fazed by all the noise, enjoying a new purchase that he showed off on Twitter on Friday.

Only time will tell what the future holds for Young, but he may be in Atlanta for a bit longer until things open up for the Hawks, which could lead to more speculation heading toward the NBA trade deadline next year.
It’ll be interesting to see how things unfold for the Hawks and whether they decide to make another move this summer.
