Not many NBA players deal with the fact that they don’t seem to have a place in the league anymore.

The NBA is getting younger by the year, and teams don’t seem to value veterans as much as they used to.

That’s why most players are forced to retire because of a lack of interest in their services, and not many of them get to walk away on their own terms.

Others continue to pursue a career in professional basketball, joining a team overseas as they still have a love for the game and believe they have something to give.

Notably, that’s the case with Rudy Gay.

According to a report by Tolis Kotzias, the 16-year NBA veteran has decided to sign a deal with in Greece (Via Evan Sidery).

Rudy Gay is reportedly signing an overseas deal in Greece with Peristeri B.C., per @IONIKOS1972 (https://t.co/ueRkeMpeNZ).

Gay last played for the Utah Jazz in 2023.

He’s always been a respected figure around the league and could’ve been a strong mentor for young players, but the league moved on from him already.

The UConn product had a long career in the NBA, although he failed to live up to the sky-high expectations that came with him when he entered the league as the No. 8 pick in the 2006 Draft.

The 36-year-old was a solid 3-and-D wing for most of his career and even won a couple of gold medals in the FIBA World Cup with Team USA.

Still, he never made it to an All-Star Game, and he might have played his last minute in the league already.
