Kenny Atkinson is putting together a coaching staff that will help him lead the Cleveland Cavaliers.
He was only recently hired as head coach to that team but he is already hard at work compiling a group of people who can get the Cavaliers on the right path.
According to Michael Scotto, per Jonathan Macri, Cleveland “is expected to have interest in several candidates to join Atkinson’s staff.”
Those candidates include Johnnie Bryant, Jared Dudley, Trevor Hendry, and more.

Atkinson has already hired Jordan Ott and DeMarre Carroll as assistant coaches but he isn’t done bringing in more talent.
Dudley and Hendry wouldn’t be big shocks considering they worked with Atkinson while with the Brooklyn Nets.
Additionally, Bryant actually interviewed for the head coaching job in Cleveland and helped coach Donovan Mitchell when he was with the Utah Jazz.
Therefore, all of these potential picks make a lot of sense for the Cavaliers.
Atkinson and his coaching staff have their work cut out for them.
The Cavaliers are not a bad team by any measure but they certainly aren’t reaching the heights that fans expected.
They ended last season as the fourth team in the East but were constantly struggling with injuries and inconsistency.
The hope is that they can stay healthy and driven in the new season.
Atkinson will have a huge hand in that and is trying to figure out ways to make this current roster work even better.
Mitchell is going to stay in Cleveland, which is uncountably good news, but other changes could be on the way.
There are still questions about Darius Garland, for example, and the lineup could be altered before the new season.
The coaching staff is coming together, but what will the team look like?
