The Philadelphia 76ers are currently the biggest winners of the NBA offseason.
Landing Paul George put them in a privileged position, and they’re now one of the teams to beat in the Eastern Conference.
The Sixers weren’t that far behind and were considered to be a second-tier team in the East, yet George’s addition may put them on the same level as the Boston Celtics, assuming they can stay healthy.
That’s why Daryl Morey made sure to give his new star a proper welcome with a post on social media now that the signing has been made official (via Sam DiGiovanni).

George gives the Sixers a whole new offensive layer.
He can pull up, spot up, play on and off the ball, and score efficiently from all three levels.
They can rely on him when other players are struggling and vice versa, and he’s just a massive upgrade over the inconsistent Tobias Harris.
On top of that, he’s also an elite defender, and he’s going to take plenty of pressure off of Tyrese Maxey on that end of the floor because of his ability to switch onto smaller players as well.
Of course, George also has a history of injuries, and health will always be a concern with Joel Embiid as well.
Nevertheless, adding a third star to the mix obviously puts the Sixers in a position to have at least two of them available and on the court at all times, especially come playoff time.
