During the 2022-23 NBA season, the Sacramento Kings were one of the most surprising teams in the league, as the struggling franchise rallied around new head coach Mike Brown and ended their playoff drought, which was the longest in the NBA.
Unfortunately for Sacramento, the team fell back down to earth the following season, with the Kings unable to make it to the postseason, which left many questions about the franchise’s immediate future.
Although last season was a disappointment, the Kings brass headed into the NBA offseason determined to right the ship and willing to make aggressive moves in order to get back on track ahead of the 2024-25 campaign.
Over the weekend, Sacramento made a big move by pulling off a sign-and-trade deal for veteran guard DeMar DeRozan, which should improve their chances of being a legitimate threat in the Western Conference next season.
Along with DeRozan’s addition, the Kings are reportedly considering trading for Kyle Kuzma of the Washington Wizards, according to Damien Barling of ESPN via Evan Sidery of Forbes.

Over the past couple of years, Kuzma’s name has been mentioned many times in trade rumors during the offseason and leading up to the NBA trade deadline during the regular season.
However, the Wizards have held onto the one-time NBA champion, but that could change this summer as the team embraces a full-on rebuilding process in the nation’s capital.
In 70 games last season for the Wizards, Kuzma averaged a career-high 22.2 points per game to go along with 6.6 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game, shooting 46.3% from the floor and 33.6% from beyond the arc.
