Stephen Curry has been in the NBA for 15 years now.

He’s spent his entire career with the Golden State Warriors, leading them back to relevance, making them the team to beat in the league, and becoming the greatest player in franchise history.

Needless to say, the team would love for him to stay there for the remainder of his career, and that has always seemed to be his plan as well.

Nonetheless, that’s not something that happens very often in sports anymore, especially not in the NBA.

That’s why, when asked about his future with the organization, Curry claimed that as much as he wants to be in the Bay area for life, you don’t know what the future holds because everything can change very quickly in the league nowadays (via Yahoo Sports & NBA Central).

Steph Curry says he wants to be a ‘Warrior for Life,’ but things change quickly in the NBA

“I mean, I can clearly say I want to be a Warrior for life. It’s always been my goal, and I’m saying that sitting in this chair right now, but like you said, life, and especially life… pic.twitter.com/SimkQcs61O

The fact that this comes on the heels of Klay Thompson leaving for the Dallas Mavericks is no coincidence at all.

Like Curry, Thompson constantly talked about spending his entire career with the Warriors organization before things took a U-turn.

Curry has another year left in his contract after this one, and he’ll be 37 by the time his deal runs out, so the Warriors might be forced to make a decision about a new contract soon.

They won’t hesitate to bring him back, but given his competitive nature and ever-lasting desire to compete at the highest level, he might lean towards packing his bags and leaving if he doesn’t like the direction the organization is heading.
