Keyshawn Johnson Says Clippers Were ‘Majorly Disrespectful’ To Paul George

The Los Angeles Clippers could’ve kept Paul George or at least flipped him for some assets.

They did neither, and he walked away as a free agent after five years of no NBA Finals appearances.

The Shai Gilgeous-Alexander trade will sting this franchise for years to come, but it’s not like it was hard to blame George for making this decision.

He recently revealed that the Clippers initially offered him just $60 million over two years, which is even disrespectful for a player of his caliber.

They slightly improved their offers over time, and he even agreed to take less money and accept the same deal as Kawhi Leonard.

Still, he asked them to give him a no-trade clause, as the way they had lowballed him made it feel like his future with the organization wasn’t a given.

That’s why he ended up leaving, as the Clippers showed him that they just didn’t value him enough.

With that in mind, former NFL star Keyshawn Johnson claimed the Clippers were majorly disrespectful with this situation.

Talking on Undisputed, Johnson stated that the Clippers never offered him a fair deal, which is why it was a no-brainer decision for him and his family.

George wanted to stay in California, but there was no way he would leave $212 million on the table.

He felt like it wasn’t right to come back to the Clippers after everything that had transpired.

Now, Steve Balllmer’s team isn’t as good as it used to be, and they didn’t even get a draft pick back for his services.
